Walking in Erris

Erris is ideal walking country. Long deserted beaches, spectacular cliffs and the wild, rugged and largely unspoilt terrain all combine to make it a walker's paradise.

A new walk has been developed on Erris Head. The walk is marked and access is from Glenlara, where there is car parking. More information on the walk, as well as an opportunity to join a guided walk as part of Feile Iorras 2008 can be found here

There is a series of mapped and marked walks in the area including the Bangor Trail and the Western Way.

Erris Walks - Siúlóidí Iorrais is a wonderful series of 24 circular walks all over the barony. Every age and ability is catered for. There is a guide book available from Iorras Domhnann - The Rural Tourism Co-op at   + 353 (0) 97 81500.
