The wide variety of habitats in the Erris area make it particularly interesting for birdwatchers. Cormorants and many different types of gull inhabit the beaches and coastline. |

The Corncrake is heard in a number of meadows in the northern part of the Mullet Peninsula. There is a bird reserve being developed at Annagh Marsh. This is a very sensitive area and access is by prior arrangement only with Birdwatch Ireland. For more information go to Birdwatch Ireland |
