Birdwatching in Erris

The wide variety of habitats in the Erris area make it particularly interesting for birdwatchers.

Cormorants and many different types of gull inhabit the beaches and coastline.

The Corncrake is heard in a number of meadows in the northern part of the Mullet Peninsula.

There is a bird reserve being developed at Annagh Marsh. This is a very sensitive area and access is by prior arrangement only with Birdwatch Ireland.
