Exhibition of paintings by Mike Absalom
In the autumn of 2007 Mike Absalom spent a number of weeks visiting the Mullet Peninsula in the Barony of Erris. He spent long hours by turf fires listening to traditional story tellers and craftsmen, imparting an intimate knowledge of what had once existed here, what was being lost and what still continued as part of a living culture. The series of paintings ‘A View of the Peninsula ' is the fruit of his experience on this strange, stormy and magical coast.
